1.18.06...Tom Foolery and the Mistakes played their final show ever on December 30th, 2005. Thanks to everyone for all their support; it's been a great run. Please pick up a copy of the TFATM 3-disc career spanning retrospective, Marble in the Oatmeal via Paypal in the TFATM store if you haven't already done so. Even though the band is finished, this site will still exist to document the things we have done, and will give you updates on band members' new projects. For example, Kyle Sowash's new band, THE KYLE SOWASHES are playing a concert at Andyman's Treehouse in Columbus, OH this Friday night with GET HIM EAT HIM and LORD HALL. Also...expect pictures from the final TFATM show real soon.

10.06.05.....The official word is that Tom Foolery and the Mistakes' final show will be held at Used Kids Records (1980 N High St, Columbus, OH USA) on Friday, December 30th at 7 PM. Our good friends FINE DINING will open the festivities. This show will also coincide with the release of our anthology "Marble in the Oatmeal". This will be a three disc set (two audio discs, one DVD) and it will span our entire 9 year career.

08.23.05...
Hello, friends.
Some bittersweet news here on the Tom Foolery and the Mistakes front. After nine years of rockin', Tom Foolery and the Mistakes have decided to call it a day at the end of the year.
...But not before releasing one more album.
Nine years is a long time...and we have enjoyed every minute of it. However, due to recent increased activities in our lives, we have decided to lay it to rest and concentrate on other things.
It's been a great run. We've met some awesome people, shared the stage with some awesome bands, and we drank a lot of beer. A lot.
Our itinerary for the remainder of 2005 includes playing an awesome show this Friday night, August 26th with our good friends Jon Chinn and the 1803, Southeast Engine, and Joe Anderl @ Little Brother's (1100 N High, Columbus OH). This show is 18+, so that the youngsters can rock out as well.
THIS IS NOT THE END, though! After this show, we'll have a few weeks off, and then we'll head up to the Columbus Discount Recording Studio to record five of our new songs. They will be packaged with our retrospective MARBLE IN THE OATMEAL, which will consist of an enhanced CD containing single and comp tracks, unreleased songs, a couple videos, tour footage, and a live performance, as well as a bonus disc which will effectively document our four-track excursions through the years. After some extensive editing, there should be about 40 songs total on this bad boy.
On Friday, December 30th, 2005, we will hold a CD release party for MARBLE IN THE OATMEAL in Columbus at a location TBA. Keep checking our site for details.

08.17.05...TWO YEARS and two days ago today........"Take one for the Team" was released onto the world. Happy belated birthday, album! To celebrate, we'll be performing a few songs from it Friday @ The Comet in Cincinnati, and next Friday @ Little Brother's in Columbus. Hope to see you there!

06.23.05...The shows scheduled for July 6 & 7 will have to happen some other time... The other acts on that Andyman's show have cancelled their tour, and the Ravari Room cancelled our show in favor of Funky Thursdays. Sorry 'bout all that.
Come see us @ Andyman's on July 30th. We'll rock and roll.

5.31.05... If you'll look at the newly updated shows page, you'll be delighted to see that the Mistakes have been working on some FANTASTIC shows for summer 2005 that you will not want to miss.
In addition, TFATM guitarist Kyle Sowash will be playing a few solo shows in June and July, debuting some brand new songs of his as he opens for awesome people like former Guided By Voices guitarist DOUG GILLARD (June 12TH @ ANDYMAN'S) and later on, JASON ANDERSON (July 6TH @ ANDYMAN'S)....should be fun rocking out with that tree...

In other news, we've got a bunch of new stuff we've been working on. So, come to the shows and help us name some of these new songs of ours....
